Associated with a non-constant bounded holomorphic function \(\phi\) on the unit disk is the multiplication operator \(M_\phi: f\mapsto \phi f\) on the Hardy space \(H^2\). Let \(M_\phi^*\) be its adjoint. The authors show that, if both \(M_{\phi_1}^*\) and \(M_{\phi_2}^*\) are hypercyclic, then their tensor product \(T:=M_{\phi_1}^*\otimes M_{\phi_2}^*\) is mixing and chaotic. The latter is proven to be equivalent to \(T\) being hypercyclic itself and this holds if and only if \(\phi_1(\mathbb D)\phi_2(\mathbb D)\cap\mathbb T\not=\emptyset\). Frequent hypercyclicity is also investigated. Applications to related types of operators are given.
