Equations of motion for variational electrodynamics (Q2634203)

The purpose of this paper is to prove several lemmas related to the electromagnetic functional for the Euler-Lagrange equations. The paper is in the spirit of analytic mechanics, which is known to give exact solutions to certain clearly defined mechanical problems. The proofs use the Radon-Nikodym derivative, Gateaux derivative, Lebesgue dominated convergence, velocities of bounded variation, Legendre transform. There are many references in the end of the paper.
