On the indices of minimal orbits of Hermann actions (Q2634723)

Let \(G\) be a compact Lie group. A Hermann action is the action of a symmetric subgroup \(H\) of \(G\) on a symmetric space \(N=G/K\). In the main result of this paper, Theorem A, a formula for the indices of minimal but not totally geodesic submanifolds subject to some constraints is given. In Section 4 some examples of minimal submanifolds satisfying these constraints are presented and their indices are calculated.
