Let \(\mathrm{PEI}_n\) (\(\mathrm{POEI}_n\)) be the monoid of all partial (resp. order-preserving) extensive and injective transformations of a chain of order \(n\). It is shown that the monoid \(\mathrm{PEI}_n\) (\(\mathrm{POEI}_n\)) is nonfinitely based iff \(n\geqslant 3\) and is hereditarily finitely based iff \(n\leqslant 2\).
