The authors study the asymptotic behavior of the positive solution to parabolic problem \[ u_t-\triangle u=\lambda u+a_b(x)u^p, \;t>0,\; x\in \Omega \] \[ u(t,x)=M >0,\; t>0, x\in \partial \Omega,\; u(0,x)=u_0(x)\geq 0 \;\; x\in \Omega \] in a bounded domain of \(\mathbb R^N\), \(N\geq 1\) with \(C^3\)-boundary \(\partial \Omega\) and non-negative function \(0\neq u_0\), where \(a_b\equiv ba_+-a_-\in L^\infty (\Omega),\; a_+=\max\{a,0\},\;a_-=-\max\{a,0\}\), and \(b\in \mathbb R\) is the main bifurcation parameter. One of the main results of the article is the characterization of the range of such \(\lambda\) for which the relevant equation for steady-state solutions admits a positive solution for some \(b>0\) and subsequent proof of the existence of its minimal positive solution, which must be the unique linearly stable positive steady-state solution.
