Let \(\mathcal{A}\) be the universal abelian scheme over the formal completion of the Siegel modular variety \(\mathcal{X}\) of genus \(g\) and level prime to \(p\) over the Witt ring along the special fiber. Let \(X\) be the Raynaud generic fiber of \(\mathcal{X}\) and \(X^{\text{ord}}\) be its ordinary locus considered as an admissible open subset of \(X\). The restriction of the Raynaud generic fiber of the identity component of the \(p^n\)-torsion of \(\mathcal{A}\) on \(X^{\text{ord}}\) is étale locally isomorphic to the constant group \((\mathbb{Z}/p^n\mathbb{Z})^g\) and it is a lift of the kernel of the \(n\)-th iterated Frobenius of the special fiber of \(\mathcal{A}\). This subgroup can be extended to a subgroup with the same properties over a larger admissible open subset of \(X\) containing \(X^{\text{ord}}\) and the author proved the existence of such subgroups, which will be call level \(n\) canonical subgroup under the following assumptions: the Hodge height is less than \(p/(p+1)\) when \(n=1\) and \(1/(2p^{n-1})\) if \(n \geq 2\). The subject paper generalizes to the case of \(p=2\) when the Hodge height is less than \(1/(p^{n-2}(p+1))\).
