Hopfield neural networks with delay are studied. The authors prove global attractivity of such systems for special cases of the network architecture and activation functions. They give first the definition of a strong attractor for a discrete dynamical system and present several examples of strong attractors. Then they relate the delay differential equations under consideration to strong attractors. Global bifurcation results are proved for this class of neural networks. As application to biological models, an equation with distributed delay is studied finally.
