Homogeneous weight functions was introduced by \textit{I. Constantinescu} and \textit{W. R. Heise} [Probl. Inf. Transm. 33, No. 3, 208--213 (1997); translation from Probl. Peredachi Inf. 33, No. 3, 22--28 (1997; Zbl 0977.94055)] appear as natural generalizations of the Hamming and Lee weights. Linear codes over finite Frobenius rings are obtained with similar duality properties as codes over finite fields. In this paper the authors derive Plotkin bounds for codes over Frobenius rings equipped with homogeneous weights. Their result improves the bounds given by \textit{M. Greferath} and \textit{M. E. O'Sullivan} [Discrete Math. 289, No. 1--3, 11--24 (2004; Zbl 1082.94022)]. Some family of codes meeting the new bounds are also presented.
