Master symmetries of the one-dimensional XY-model, which were discussed earlier by \textit{E. Barouch} and \textit{B. Fuchssteiner} [Stud. Appl. Math. 73, 221-237 (1985; Zbl 0608.35060)] for a finite size case by computer computation, are mathematically analyzed for an infinitely extended case by a rigorous operator algebra method with an easy computation. The infinite family of commuting Hamiltonians and the master symmetries generating them are found to form an infinite dimensional Lie group of automorphisms of a \(C^*\)-algebra of spin observables of the model. The commuting Hamiltonians generated by the series of master symmetries of Barouch and Fuchssteiner are found to be a finite linear combination of the commuting Hamiltonians generated by the starting master symmetry.
