A Hilbert space operator T is called semihyponormal if \((T^*T)^{1/2}- (TT^*)^{1/2}\geq 0\). The paper under review establishes an analytic model of the semi-hyponormal integral operator \[ (Sf)(z)=z\beta (z)f(z)+\lim_{\epsilon \to 0}(2\pi i)^{-1}z\alpha (z)\int_{{\mathbb{T}}}\alpha (t)f(t)[t-z(1-\epsilon)]^{-1}dt \] for \(f\in L^ 2({\mathbb{T}})\), where \(\alpha\),\(\beta\) are positive continuous functions on the unit circle \({\mathbb{T}}\). The desired representation is as multiplication by z on a Hilbert space of analytic functions in a doubly connected domain D depending on \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) with a particular inner product via a kernel S(z,w). The paper is concluded by explicit calculations of S(z,w), the principal function of the representation, and other kernel functions in terms of the regions \({\mathbb{D}}\).
