The author considers a class of two-dimensional continuous Markov fields of polygonal type, introduced earlier by T. Arak and investigated later by T. Arak and D. Surgailis. These random fields take only two values, \(\pm 1\), and each level set consists of polygons. The existence of a thermodynamic limit for the polygonal models ``with small contour length'' is proven with the help of the Kirkwood-Salzburg-type correlation equation for the correlation functions of the fields. An example of consistent polygonal models is given for which the existence of the thermodynamic limit is trivial.
