    Let \(\pi^{\alpha}\) be the Euler factor of an odd perfect number and \(u_ k\) any other prime factor. The author shows (1) that if each \(u_ k\equiv 1 (mod 4)\), then \(\pi\equiv \alpha (mod 8)\); and, (2) if each \(u_ k\equiv 3 (mod 4)\), then \(\delta =\sigma (\pi^{\alpha})/2\) cannot be a prime.
