The author compares the Jimbo-Drinfel'd concept of quantum groups with the concept of Faddeev et al. and Woronowicz. According to the first concept, a quantum group is a dual object to the quantum algebra \(U_ q{\mathfrak g}\), which is a one parameter deformation of a universal enveloping algebra of a Lie (or Kac-Moody) algebra. The second concept is based on the quantization of the function space of the accompanying Lie group. The author on the basis of exploiting the quantum dual construction establishes an explicit isomorphism between the generators \(\{\ell_{ij}^{(\pm)}\}\) (of the quantum group) by Faddeev et al. and Woronowicz and the generators \(\{q^{\pm H_{i/2}}\), \(X_ i^{\pm}\}\), which was introduced by Drinfel'd and Jimbo. Basic is the following observation; a matrix \(L^{\pm}=(\ell^{\pm}_{ij})^ n_{i,j=1}\), which consists of the generators \(\{\ell^{\pm}_{ij}\}\) as matrix elements can be expressed in terms of the universal R-matrix of \(U_ q{\mathfrak g}\) (and some representations \(\rho_{ij})\). The author encodes the Hopf structure of the quantized algebra \(U_ q{\mathfrak sl}(n)\) into a matrix format by employing the universal R-matrix of \(U_ q{\mathfrak sl}(n)\) and constructs all commutation relations of the generators of \(U_ q{\mathfrak sl}(n)\).
