The author addresses the following problem. Let \(\sigma\) (D) be an elliptic and almost periodic pseudodifferential operator. Can one represent it as \(\sigma (D)=\sigma_ A(D){\hat \otimes}1\), where \(\sigma_ A\) is a pseudodifferential operator over a certain \(C^*\) algebra A acting on sections of a vector bundle whose fiber is a projective finitely generated A-module, in such a way that \(\sigma_ A(D)\) has the same spectrum as \(\sigma\) (D)? The author shows that the answer is positive, thus extending earlier work of Biktashev, in which \(\sigma\) (D) is a differential operator.
