The shadow boundary \(\partial (K,x)\) of a convex body K with respect to a point x not in K is the set of points y in K such that the affine hull of \(\{\) x,y\(\}\) does not meet the interior of K. The space of d-dimensional convex bodies in d-space, with the Hausdorff metric, is a Baire space. To say that most convex bodies enjoy a certain property means that the set of such figures is the complement of a first category set. The author proves that for most convex bodies the affine hull of \(\partial (K,x)\) has dimension d for all x not in K. There is an extended study of a related question about shadow boundaries.
