An age-dependent branching process where each cell produces offspring only if it has life-length more than \(\tau_ 1>0\) is considered. The asymptotic behavior of the mean number of cells that die after \(\tau_ 2>0\) is studied. Exact expressions for Markov branching processes are given. Integral equation methods are used in the general case of age- dependent processes.
