    Let \(\alpha\),\(\beta\) be algebraic numbers, \(\alpha\neq 0,1\), the degree of \(\beta\) is 3. Let P(x,y) be a polynomial with rational coefficients and t(P)\(\equiv \deg P+\ln H(p)\). The author gives the estimate \[ | P(\alpha^{\beta},\alpha^{\beta^ 2})| \quad \geq \quad \exp (- \exp (\mu t(p) \deg P)), \] where \(\mu\) is a positive constant depending on \(\alpha\),\(\beta\). Earlier results of this type of estimates are due to \textit{A. O. Gel'fond} and \textit{N. I. Fel'dman} [Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 14, 493-500 (1950; Zbl 0038.193)] and \textit{W. D. Brownawell} [Compos. Math. 38, 355-368 (1979; Zbl 0402.10039)].
