    In Part I [ibid. 65, 51-54 (1989; Zbl 0689.10046)] the author sharpened, under the Riemann hypothesis, \textit{E. Landau}'s classical formula [Math. Ann. 71, 548-564 (1911)] \[ \sum_{0<\gamma \leq T}x^{\rho}=- (T/2\pi)\Lambda (x)+O(\log T), \] where \(\rho =\beta +i\gamma\) denotes complex zeros of \(\zeta\) (s), \(x>1\) is fixed, \(T\geq T_ 0\), \(\Lambda (x)=\log p\) if \(x=p^ k\) (a prime power) and zero otherwise. In the present paper, the author again assumes the Riemann hypothesis throughout. He proves several results on sums of \(x^{i\gamma}\), including \[ \sum_{0<\gamma \leq T}x^{i\gamma}=\frac{-T\Lambda (x)}{2\pi x^{1/2}}+\frac{x^{iT}\log (T/2\pi)}{2\pi i \log x}+x^{iT}S(T)+O(\frac{\log T}{(\log \log T)^ 2}), \] where \(x>1\) is fixed, \(T>T_ 0\) and \(S(T)=(1/\pi)\arg \zeta (1/2+iT)\) (so \(S(T)\ll \log T/\log \log T\) under RH). Two results when x is not necessarily fixed are also proved, and they all depend on another result of the author, namely \[ \int^{2}_{1/2}| \log \zeta (\sigma +iT)| d\sigma \ll (\log T)/(\log \log T)^ 2. \]
