The authors provide a classification theorem for embedded rotation hypersurfaces in \(S^{n+1}\), i.e., hypersurfaces that are invariant under the action of \(O(n)\), with vanishing \(m\)-th mean curvature \(H_m\), i.e., for which the (normalized) \(m\)-th symmetric function of its principal curvatures vanishes: ``There are no compact embedded rotation hypersurfaces with \(H_m=0\) (\(1\leq m\leq n-1\)) of \(S^{n+1}\) other than the Riemannian products \(S^{n-1}(\sqrt{{n-m\over n}})\times S^1({\sqrt{{m\over n}}})\) and round geodesic spheres,\dots''. The proof depends on a careful analysis of the ODE obtained from \(H_m=0\).
