The author studies carefully the behaviour of the syzygies (minimal resolutions) of the restrictions to planes of the Horrocks-Mumford bundle on \({\mathbb P}^4\). One finds 6 possible numerical characters (i.e. sets of degrees for the minimal generators), thus obtaining a stratification of the Grassmanian \({\mathbb G}(2,4)\). This stratification is studied in close connection with the phenomenon of jumping lines.
