The self-similar solutions of the Tricomi-type equations (Q2642862)

The author studies the Tricomi-type equation \(u_{tt}=t^{2k}\Delta u\). For \(k=1/2\) the equation becomes the Tricomi equation. The paper analyses the properties of self-similar solutions of the Cauchy problem in \(\mathbb R_{+}^{n+1}\) with homogeneous initial data. The solution is represented in terms of fundamental solutions of the wave equation (the case \(k=0\)) by the integral transformation. Estimates of the upper bound for the solutions' size and asymptotics for self-similar solutions are obtained.
