Let \(X\) be a set, \(G\) a group acting on \(X\), and for each \(x \in X\) let \(U_x\) be a subgroup of \(G_x\). Suppose \(U_x\) acts sharply transitive on \(X - \{x\}\) and \(G^\ast := \langle U_x\); \(x \in X \rangle\) permutes under conjugation the set \(\{U_x\); \(x \in X\}\). Next select a \(G^\ast\)-equivariant collection of subgroups \(\{V_x\); \(x \in X\}\), where \(V_x\) is a non-trivial proper subgroup of \(U_x\) which is normal in \(G_x\). The Moufang building on (\(X\), \(\{U_x\}_{x \in X}\), \(\{V_x\}_{x \in X}\)) is the geometry with points \(X\) and blocks \(\{x\} \cup \{y^v ; v \in V_x\}\), for \(x,y \in X\). An automorphism of the geometry is a permutation of points which preserves the lines. In the same way that the fundamental theorem of projective geometry says that every projectivity of a Desarguesian space is induced by a semilinear transformation, the question here is whether every automorphism of a Moufang building is induced by an automorphism of the group \(G^\ast\). In this paper, the author defines the Suzuki-Tits Moufang building which is constructed from the simple Suzuki groups and from a set of points in a 3-dimensional projective space. His first main result is the desired fundamental theorem for this type of geometry. For the second main result, he defines a further geometry, a Suzuki-Tits inversive plane, based on the first, and shows that both geometries share the same group of automorphisms.
