Let a quantum system with two `quantum fields' b,c be given, which can loosely be described as operator-value sections of holomorphic line bundles over a compact connected Riemann surface M of genus \(g>1.\) The author is interested in determining the correlation functions of the system \[ (m,n)\equiv <b(Q_ 1)...b(Q_ m)c(P_ 1)...c(P_ n)>, \] where Q's and P's are arbitrary (but distinct) points on M; and as an immediate consequence of one of the main results related to the computation of the dimension, obtains a new proof of Fay's trisecant identity.
