The paper deals with the problem of existence of positive solutions for the Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem of the \(2n\)th-order singular semipositone ordinary differential equation: \[ (-1)^{n}u^{(2n)}(t)=f(t,u),\quad t\in (0,1), \] \[ \begin{aligned}\alpha_{i}\,u^{(2i-2)}(0)- \beta_{i}\,u^{(2i-1)}(0)&=0,\\ \gamma_{i}\,u^{(2i-2)}(1)+ \delta_{i}u^{(2i-1)}(1)&=0,\end{aligned} \] where \(n \geq 2,\) \(i=1,2,\dots,n\), \(f\in C((0,1)\times[0,+\infty),(-\infty,+\infty))\), \(f(t,u)\) may be singular at \(t=0\) and/or \(t=1\), \(\alpha_{i},\beta_{i}\), and \(\delta_{i}\) are nonnegative constants such that \(\alpha_{i}\gamma_{i}+\alpha_{i}\delta_{i}+\beta_{i}\gamma_{i}>0\). Some results (new even for \(n=2\)) on the existence of \( C^{(2n-2)}[0,1]\) positive solutions and \(C^{(2n-1)}[0,1] \) positive solutions are derived. They obtain some relations between the solutions and Green functions. The last example shows that the nonlinearity term \(f(t,u)\) may include \(-r(t)u^{\frac{1}{2}}\), which is difficult to treat in other papers.
