A new class of variational inclusions with B-monotone operators in Banach spaces (Q2654196)

The authors consider a class of variational inclusions in Banach spaces together with an algorithm for the determination of a solution. For this purpose, the authors introduce \(B\)-monotone operators. This definition is accompanied by a comprehensive introduction on monotonicity including the review of a few lemmas and the discussion of several examples. Subsequently, the authors introduce and analyze the proximal mapping associated with \(B\)-monotone operators and show the relations to other results in the literature. Using properties of the proximal mapping the authors derive an iterative algorithm in Banach spaces for determining one element that fulfills the variational inclusions. The convergence of the algorithm is proved. Finally, the authors comment again on the relation to similar results in the literature.
