The paper is concerned with new composite iteration approximating the common fixed points of a finite family of nonexpasive mappings in Banach spaces having a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Utilizing an iterative algorithm the authors obtain strong convergence theorems for families of nonexpansive mappings. Here is one of them: Theorem. Assume that for each \( i\in \{1,2,\dots,N \},\quad Q_{i}: K\rightarrow K_{i} \) is a finite family of nonexpansive retraction such that \(\bigcap^{N}_{i=1} K_{i}\neq\emptyset \). Assume that converges strongly to fixed point \(z\) of a nonexpansive mapping \(S\) as \(t\rightarrow 0\), where \(z_{i}\) is the unique element of \(K\) which satisfies \(z_{i}=tu+(1-t)Sz_{i}\) for any \(u\in K\). Assume that the real sequences \[ \{ \alpha_{ni}:i=1,2,\dots,N-1\},\{ \alpha_{n}\},\{ \beta_{n}\},\{ \gamma_{n}\} \] satisfy in \((0,1)\) some specified conditions. Let for any \(x_{1}=x_{1}^{0} \in K ,\) the sequence \(x_{n}\) be defined by \[ \begin{aligned} x_{n}^{i} &=(1-\alpha_{ni})x_{n}^{i-1}+\alpha_{ni}T_{i}x_{n}^{i-1}, i=1,2,\dots,N-1, \\ x_{n+1}&=x_{n+1}^{0}=x_{n}^{N}=\alpha_{n}u+\beta_{n}x_{n}^{0}+\gamma_{n}T_{N}x_{n}^{N-1},\quad n\geq1.\end{aligned} \] Then the sequence \(x_{n}\) converges strongly to a common fixed point \(z\) of \(\{T_{i}:i\in \{1,2,\dots,N \}\}\) if and only if \(\lim_{n\rightarrow\infty}\|x_{n}-Q_{i}x_{n}\|=0,i=1,2,\dots,N-1\).
