Generalized Schur functions and related de Branges-Rovnyak spaces in the Banach space setting (Q2655389)

In this paper, a class of reproducing kernel Pontryagin spaces of functions with values in a Banach space is studied. This class equals the analogues of the de Branges-Rovnyak spaces in the Banach space case. A factorization theorem for selfadjoint operators with a finite number of negative squares from the dual of a Banach space into the Banach space itself is proved. The main result is a representation result for elements of the class of spaces studied in this paper. The representation result reduces the study of these elements to the Pontryagin space setting. Finally, a Beurling-Lax type theorem is given.
