      The aim of this paper is the study of groups factorized by three cyclic subgroups. In particular, the author proves that if the group \(G\) is generated by its cyclic subgroups \(A,B,C\) such that \([A,B]\leq A\), \([B,C]\leq B\) and \([C,A]\leq C\), then \(G\) is supersoluble and \(G''\) is contained in \(Z(G)\) (and so \(G'\) has nilpotency class at most \(2\)). This result is applied to describe the structure of certain finitely presented groups introduced by \textit{J. Mennicke} [Arch. Math. 10, 409-418 (1959; Zbl 0089.01405)].
