Let \(\mathfrak{g}\) be a symmetrizable Kac Moody Lie algebra. Let \(U(\mathfrak{g})\) be the universal enveloping algebra of \(\mathfrak{g}\). Let \(V_{\lambda}\) be the irreducible integrable representation of \(\mathfrak{g}\) with highest weight \(\lambda\), which is dominant integral. Let \(v_{\lambda}\) be a non-zero highest weight vector in \(V_{\lambda}\). Let \(\mu\) be another dominant integral weight, and let \(W\) be the Weyl group. Take \(w\in W\), the cyclic \(\mathfrak{g}\)-submodule \(U(\mathfrak{g})(v_{\lambda}\otimes v_{w\mu})\) of \(V_{\lambda}\otimes V_{\mu}\), denoted as \(K(\lambda, w, \mu)\), is called the Kostant-Kumar module. Let \(\mathcal{P}_{\lambda}\) (resp., \(\mathcal{P}_{\mu}\)) denote the set of Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths of shape \(\lambda\) (resp., \(\mu\)). For \(\pi\in\mathcal{P}_{\lambda}\) and \(\pi^\prime\in\mathcal{P}_{\mu}\), let \(\pi\star\pi^\prime\) be the concatenation of \(\pi\) and \(\pi^\prime\). The authors associate an element \(\mathfrak{w}(\pi, \pi^\prime)\in W\) to each \(\pi\star\pi^\prime\). Let \[ \mathcal{P}(\lambda, w, \mu)=\{\pi\star\pi^\prime \mid \pi\in\mathcal{P}_{\lambda}, \pi^\prime\in \mathcal{P}_{\mu}, \mathfrak{w}(\pi\star\pi^\prime)\leq w\}. \] Assume that \(\mathfrak{g}\) is either of finite type or symmetric. Theorem 7.1 of the current paper says that \(\mathcal{P}(\lambda, w, \mu)\) is a path model of \(K(\lambda, w, \mu)\) in the sense of Littelmann. More precisely, \[ \textbf{char}\, K(\lambda, w, \mu)=\sum_{\pi\star\pi^\prime \in \mathcal{P}(\lambda, w, \mu)} \exp(\pi\star\pi^\prime)(1). \] Its proof combines the invariance of \(\mathfrak{w}(\pi, \pi^\prime)\) under root operators, Joseph's decomposition rule, the path character formula and the isomorphism theorem due to Littelmann. Theorems 8.1 and 8.4 study the PRV components in Kostant-Kumar modules.
