Let \(\alpha\in[0,\pi/2)\) and \(S_\alpha=\{z\in\mathbb{C}: \text{Re}(z)>0, |\text{Im}(z)|\leq \tan(\alpha) \text{Re}(z)\}\) be a sector in the complex plane. A matrix \(T\in\mathbb{M}_n(\mathbb{C})\) is called sectorial if \(W(T):=\{\langle Tx,x\rangle:x\in\mathbb{C}^n,\|x\|=1\}\subseteq S_\alpha\) for some \(\alpha\in [0,\pi/2)\). The author generalizes his result [Linear Multilinear Algebra 68, No. 11, 2228--2238 (2020; Zbl 1452.15009)] for a sectorial matrix \(T\) by proving that \(|T|\leq\sec(\alpha)[\text{Re}(T)\#U^*(\text{Re}(T))U]\), where \(U\) is the unitary part of \(T\) in its polar decomposition, and \(X\#Y\) denotes the geometric mean of \(X\) and \(Y\). He then derives some singular value inequalities, unitarily invariant norm inequalities, and sharp determinant inequalities.
