In this paper, the author gives a short proof of the inequalities of Hermite-Hadarmard type established by \textit{M. Bessenyei} and \textit{Z. Páles} [Publ. Math. 61, No. 3--4, 623--643 (2002; Zbl 1017.26017)] using the newly developed method of stocahastic orderings of a random variables. Furthermore, generalizations of the results obtained by Bessenyei and Páles [loc. cit.] were also derived and proved. Examples were given to illustrate the results obtained.
