Let \(G \) be a connected semisimple group over an algebraic closed field of characteristic 0. Let \( T\) be a maximal torus of \(G\). Denote the weight lattice (the root lattice) by \(X_\star (T)\) (\(Q\)). Let \(X_{\star +}\) be the set of dominant weights. For \(\lambda \in X_{\star +}\), \(L(\lambda)\) is the irreducible representation with highest weight \(\lambda\). For dominant weights \(\lambda, \mu\), \(X(\lambda,\mu):=\{ \nu \in X_{\star,+} : L(\nu)\text{ ocurrs in } L(\lambda)\otimes L(\mu)\). Definition: A submonoid \(L\) of the additive group of dominant weights is called perfect if \(\lambda, \mu \in L\) implies \(X(\lambda,\mu)\subset L\). The author gives a complete characterization of perfect submonoids. He also discusses the perfect submonoids for reductive groups. The main result of this paper is: a) The perfect submonoids of \(X_{\star +}\) with full component support are exactly the intersections of \(X_{\star +}\) with sublattices of \(X_\star(T)\) containing \(Q\). b) There is a natural bijection between the perfect submonoids of \(X_{\star +}\) with full component support and the subgroups of the center of \(G\). When \(G\) is quasi-simple, every nonzero submonoid of \(X_{\star +}\) has full component support. The author deduces a characterization for perfect submonoids of dominant weights.
