Linear nonautonomous systems of ordinary differential equations with periodic coefficients are considered. First, the authors introduce the concept of the reflecting function of nonlinear non-autonomous systems of ordinary differential equations of general form. Then the basic properties of the reflecting functions of the class of differential systems considered in the article are given. It is shown that in this case the reflecting function is linear. On its basis, the concept of the reflecting matrix of this class of linear differential systems is introduced. It is shown how it is used to construct the Poincaré map through the period for the class of differential systems under study. Next, the periodic matrices that define periodic linear differential systems have even and odd parts. With additional restrictions on these even and odd parts, representations of the reflecting matrix are obtained. Further, on the basis of the asymptotic properties of the reflecting matrix, sufficient conditions for the stability and asymptotic stability of linear non-autonomous ordinary differential systems with periodic coefficients are obtained. The results are applied to the two-dimensional case.
