In a recent paper [Optimization 69, No. 5, 1013--1038 (2020; Zbl 1445.47043)], the authors introduced, discussed, and solved the so-called generalized split common null point problem which reads as follows. Given real Hilbert spaces \(H_1,\dots, H_N\) and maximal monotone operators \(A_i: H_i\to 2^{H_i}\), let \(S_i: H_i\to H_{i+1}\) \((i=1, 2,\dots,N- 1)\) be bounded linear operators such that \[A_1^{-1}(0)\cap S^{-1}_1(A^{-1}_1(0))\cap\cdots\cap S^{-1}_1(S^{-2}_2\cdots(S^{-1}_{N-1}(A^{-1}_N(0))))\ne\emptyset.\] The problem consists in finding a point \(u\in H_1\) such that 0 belongs to \(A_1(u)\cap A_2(S_1(u))\cap\cdots\cap A_N(S^{-1}_{N-1}(S_{N-2}(u)\cdots S_1 u))))\). A similar problem is formulated and solved here which contains the above problem as a special case.
