This article presents an optimal control problem for a Cahn-Hilliard-Brinkman system that describes that phase separation of a binary fluid in a porous material. The problem is posed with a regular potential, as opposed to the singular/logarithmic counterpart. It strong solutions are obtained under stronger assumptions on the given data to account for a higher-order Galerkin scheme. The authors establish that the further regularity are sufficient to establish optimal control and a first-order optimality condition.
