An inequality involving the Bernstein basis polynomial was stated by Ioan Rasa about thirty years ago. The first proof using the theory of probability was given by \textit{J. Mrowiec} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 446, No. 1, 864--878 (2017; Zbl 1375.26040)]. Then proofs of other authors followed. Inequalities were also proved in which instead of Bernstein polynomials more general functions were considered. Here, an inequality involving so called \(q\)-monotone functions, \(q\in N\), is proved. These functions on \([0,1]\), for \(q\leq 2\), possess a \((q-2)\)nd derivative in \((0,1)\), which is convex there. Moreover, analogues of this inequality for the basis elements of Favard-Mirackyan-Szasz and Baskakov operators are given.
