The author considers the elliptic operator \[Lu(x) = (1/2)\sum a_{i j}(x)D_{i j} u(x) + b_i (x)D_iu(x), \quad x\in\mathbb{R}^d, \] and present an interesting overview of recent results of the author himself related to the Aleksandrov type estimates with power of summability of the free term \(d_0 < d\). In this context, the author proves the Harnack estimates for \(u \in W^{2, d_0}_{\mathrm{loc}}\), Hölder continuity of L-harmonic and L-caloric functions. Under the assumption that the main coefficients are almost in \(VMO\) (and \(b \in L^d\)) the author also presents the results about solvability of the elliptic equations in \(W^{2, d_0}\) in domains and in the whole space.
