Structural characterization of deviations of quasi-projectors on the real line (Q2661277)

The operators studied in this paper are a family of quasi-projectors acting in the \(L^p\)-spaces on the real line. These operators are used in wavelet theory and in summation methods of Fourier series and integrals. The main goal of the paper under review is to give upper and lower estimates for the approximation error in terms related to moduli of smoothness and best approximations. In some cases, upper and lower estimates coincide in a sense of order.
