    This interesting paper deals with existence, uniqueness, and optimal regularity of solutions to transmission problems for harmonic functions with \(C^{1,\alpha}\) interfaces. More precisely, the authors take a smooth bounded set \(\Omega\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and a \(C^{1,\alpha}\) subdomain \(\Omega_1\) such that \(\overline{\Omega_1}\subseteq \Omega\) and consider the problem of finding a continuous function \(u \colon \overline{\Omega}\to \mathbb{R}\) such that \[ \left\{ \begin{array}{ll} \Delta u=0 & \mathrm{in } \ \Omega \setminus \partial \Omega_1\, ,\\ u=0 & \mathrm{on }\ \partial \Omega \, ,\\ u_1=u_2 & \mathrm{on }\ \partial \Omega_1 \, ,\\ (u_1)_\nu-(u_2)_\nu=g & \mathrm{on }\ \partial \Omega_1\, , \end{array} \right. \] where \[ u_1\equiv u_{|\overline{\Omega_1}}\, , \qquad u_2\equiv u_{|\overline{\Omega}\setminus \Omega_1} \, , \] and \(\nu\) is the unit normal vector on \(\partial \Omega_1\) that is interior to \(\Omega_1\). They develop a novel geometric approach based on the mean value property and the maximum principle to prove existence, uniqueness, and \(C^{1,\alpha}\) regularity of the solution to the above transmission problem. We observe that an analogous result can be obtained by potential theoretic methods (and in particular by the mapping properties of single and double layer potentials). For the Lipschitz case, we mention [\textit{L. Escauriaza} et al., Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 115, No. 4, 1069--1076 (1992; Zbl 0761.35013); \textit{L. Escauriaza} and \textit{J. K. Seo}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 338, No. 1, 405--430 (1993; Zbl 0803.35019)]. For the \(C^{1,\alpha}\) regularity case, we mention, [\textit{M. Dalla Riva} and \textit{G. Mishuris}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 430, No. 2, 718--741 (2015; Zbl 1321.35023)].
