The authors construct an unbounded strictly pseudoconvex domain \(\mathfrak A\subset\mathbb C^2\) such that: (1) \(\mathfrak A\) has a complete Bergman metric; (2) \(\mathfrak A\) is Kobayashi hyperbolic and complete; (3) \(\mathfrak A\) has neither non-constant bounded holomorphic functions, nor continuous bounded strictly psh functions; (4) \(\mathfrak A\) is not Carathéodory hyperbolic; (5) \(c(\mathfrak A)\neq\varnothing\), \(c'(\mathfrak A)=\varnothing\), where \(c(\mathfrak A):=\{\zeta\in\mathfrak A\): every smooth psh function on \(\mathfrak A\) that is bounded from above fails to be strictly psh at \(\zeta\}\), \(c'(\mathfrak A):=\{\zeta\in\mathfrak A\): every \(\varphi\in\mathcal{PSH}(\mathfrak A)\) that is bounded from above fails to be strictly psh at \(\zeta\}\).
