The paper deals with functions on vector spaces which are additive or orthogonally additive modulo \(\mathbb{Z}\). Some topological counterparts of previous results due to \textit{J. Brzdȩk} [Result. Math. 30, No. 1--2, 25--38 (1996; Zbl 0862.39012)] are obtained. As an example we mention here the following result. Let \(X\) be a real Polish vector space, \(D \subset X\) be a universally Baire non-Haar-meager set, and let \(F: X \to \mathbb{R}\) satisfy \(f(x+y)-f(x)-f(y) \in \mathbb{Z}\) for all \(x,y \in X\) and \(f(D) \subset (-\frac{1}{3},\frac{1}{3}) + \mathbb{Z}\). Then there exists a unique linear functional \(L : X \to R\) with \(f(x)-L(x) \in \mathbb{Z}\) for \(x\in X\).
