It is considered the switched nonlinear system \[ \displaylines{\displaystyle{\dot{x} + f_{\sigma(t)}(x,u(t)\omega(t))}\cr \displaystyle{z(t) = g_{\sigma(t)}(x(t),u(t),\omega(t))}} \] the switching signal taking a finite set of values and the disturbance \(\omega(t)\) being subject to an integral quadratic constraint. The system is replaced by a fuzzyfied variant which is piecewise linear, the linear models being chosen according to a rule of membership to fuzzy subspaces. The stability property is replaced by the so called annular boundedness with reference to some ellipsoids as follows \[ \displaystyle{c_3\leq x^T(0)Rx(0)\leq c_1\ \Rightarrow\ c_4\leq x^T(t)Rx(t)\leq c_2} \] for all \(t\in[0,T]\), stability being thus defined on a finite interval. Combined with an \(H_\infty\) control problem on a finite interval, the solution leads to the solving of some linear matrix inequalities.
