In [\textit{S. Gukov} et al., J. Knot Theory Ramifications 29, No. 2, Article ID 2040003, 85 p. (2020; Zbl 1448.57020)], the authors constructed \(q\)-series invariants called homological blocks in a physical way in order to categorify Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev (WRT) invariants and conjectured that radial limits of homological blocks are WRT invariants. The authors of the paper under review prove the conjecture of Gukov-Pei-Putrov-Vafa in the context of unimodular \(H\)-graphs. As a consequence they obtain that the WRT invariants of \(H\)-graphs yield quantum modular forms of depth two and of weight one with the rational quantum set. The proof of their main theorem is a combination of the fact that the invariants can be written as finite sums of rational functions and a systematic study of weighted Gauss sums in order to give new vanishing results for them.
