The authors study the level sets of generic 1-Hölder-\(\alpha\) functions defined on fractal sets. The main concept of this study is the quantity \(D_* (\alpha, F)\) which is defined as the essential supremum of the Hausdorff dimensions of the level sets of a generic 1-Hölder-\(\alpha\) function defined on the fractal \(F\) . Several basic properties of \(D_* (\alpha, F)\) are established and the value of \(D_* (\alpha, F)\) is computed for a ``thick fractal sponge.'' Additionally, it is proven that in the case of connected self similar sets \(F\), \(D_* (\alpha, F)\) equals the Hausdorff dimension of almost every level in the range of a generic 1-Hölder-\(\alpha\) function.
