The author uses the Weierstrass representation for minimal surfaces in three-dimensional metric Lie groups introduced by \textit{W. H. Meeks III} et al. [J. Differ. Geom. 120, No. 2, 307--343 (2022; Zbl 1489.53014)] and \textit{W. H. Meeks III} and \textit{J. PĂ©rez} [Contemp. Math. 570, 25--110 (2012; Zbl 1267.53006)] to construct in the first part a family of properly embedded minimal surfaces called helicoids. The methods in [\textit{B. Daniel} and \textit{L. Hauswirth}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 98, No. 2, 445--470 (2009; Zbl 1163.53036); \textit{C. Desmonts}, Pac. J. Math. 276, No. 1, 143--166 (2015; Zbl 1319.53062)] are used to construct a family of catenoidal minimal surfaces which can be regarded as an analogue of the classical catenoids in \(\mathbb{R}^{3}\) in the universal covering of the group of rigid motions of Euclidean plane endowed with a left-invariant Riemannian metric \(\widetilde{E(2)}\). The author studies the limit of the catenoidal minimal surfaces (the parameter tends to \(+\infty\)) and gives a new proof of a half-space theorem for minimal surfaces in \(\widetilde{E(2)}\) as a particular case of a more general result of \textit{L. Mazet} [Am. J. Math. 135, No. 3, 801--834 (2013; Zbl 1281.53060)].
