    The authors derive modular differential equations for the elliptic genus of some Calabi-Yau varieties. Using coordinates \(\tau\) and \(z\) for the Jacobi upper half space and the quasi-modular, holomorphic part \(E_2\) of the weight \(2\) Eisenstein series, the weight \(k\) and index \(m\) heat operator is defined as \[ \mathrm{H}_k = \tfrac{3}{m (2 \pi i)^2} \big( 8 \pi i m \partial_\tau - \partial_z^2 \big) - \tfrac{2k-1}{2} E_2 . \] Then Theorem 2.1 on \(3\)-dimensional Calabi-Yau varieties with nonzero Euler characteristic states vanishing of the elliptic genus under \(\mathrm{H}_0\). Theorem 2.3 on the analogue case in dimensions \(2\) and \(5\) asserts vanishing of the elliptic genus under \begin{align*} \mathrm{H}_4 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{H}_0 &- \tfrac{101}{4} E_4 H_0 + 10 E_6 \text{ and}\\ \mathrm{H}_4 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{H}_0 &- \tfrac{611}{25} E_4 H_0 + \tfrac{88}{25} E_6 ,\text{ respectively.} \end{align*}
