In this paper, the authors aimed to introduce inverse tensor variational inequalities and to analyze their application to an economic control equilibrium model. Under suitable assumptions, they proved the equivalence between the well-posedness of an inverse tensor variational inequality and the existence and uniqueness of its solution. Moreover, the Tikhonov regularization method was extended to tensor inverse problems to study them when they were ill-posed. This class of inverse problems was useful to the study of the policymaker's point of view for the general oligopolistic market equilibrium problem in which the equilibrium conditions were characterized by a suitable inverse variational inequality. The equivalence between the equilibrium conditions and a suitable inverse tensor variational inequality was established.
