There are several different perspectives on factorization homology, which each have different advantages. The article under review presents a hands-on geometric perspective on a recent generalization of factorization homology to the equivariant context. One advantage of this perspective is that the proofs are quite clear and intuitive. Another advantage is that the geometric underpinnings of factorization homology are at the forefront, leading to several interesting geometric applications. For example, the author proves equivariant nonabelian Poincaré duality, several formulas for decomposing equivariant factorization homology into smaller pieces, and independence of equivariant factorization homology from a choice of tangential structure. As a consequence, the author also provides a new proof of the equivariant recognition principal. One of the key techniques used in this paper is the theory of scanning maps. A careful discussion of scanning maps, including comparisons of different models, appears in Appendix A. Overall, the paper is enjoyable to read and contributes some useful perspectives on the emerging field of equivariant factorization homology.
