The book is focused on backup and recovery principles in Oracle RDBMS associated to its version Oracle8i. The book is structured into 10 chapters. Chapter 1 summarizes backup and recovery procedures in Oracle RDBMS. It justifies also the importance of backup planning for application of a database in practice. Chapter 2 provides a brief summary of basic concepts of Oracle and Oracle system architecture. The chapters 3 and 4 deal with physical and logical backup, respectively.
