Among others, the general solution \(f: G^2\to \mathbb{C}\) of the system of functional equations NEWLINE\[NEWLINE\begin{aligned} &f(xy,uv)+f(xy^{-1},u)+f(x,uv^{-1})-f(xy^{-1},uv^{-1})-f(xy,u)-f(x,uv)=0,\\ &f(xy,u)=f(yx,u), \quad f(x,uv)=f(x,vu) \quad ((x,y,u,v)\in G^4)\end{aligned} \tag{*}NEWLINE\]NEWLINE is offered, where \(G\) is a group, every element of which has a square root, and \(\mathbb{C}\) is the set of complex numbers. Then the following Hyers-Ulam stability problem is considered. Replace the equation (*) by the inequality saying that the absolute value of the left hand side is not greater than \(\delta.\) For the general solution \(f\) of this inequality the existence of a solution \(f_0\) of (*) is offered, such that \(|f(x)-f_0(x)|\leq 14982\:\delta.\) It is not discussed whether 14982 is the smallest possible constant.
